Grants Awarded!

NOVEMBER—Rob Howard and Anthony Feig were awarded $30,000 by the University of Louisiana System Learn-and-Serve for their proposal, “Hurricane Evaluation at Landfall Project for Science: Preparedness and Understanding.” More info…

OCTOBER—Anthony Feig was awarded $44,999 by the Louisiana Board of Regents for his proposal, “A Physical Geology Laboratory as an Electronic Short Course for University Students and Rural Inservice Teachers.” More info…

Farewell to Dr. LeBlanc

NOVEMBER—Dr. Lynn LeBlanc departed for Pineville, LA in November. He promises to keep in touch while he is enjoying his retirement.

Faculty Recognized

OCTOBER—Michael Camille is working with 10 ULM students to create the first comprehensive petrochemical pipeline map and Geographic Information System (GIS) database in northern Louisiana. More info…

Faculty Changes

AUGUST—Geologist Dr. Anthony Feig and atmospheric scientist Dr. Boniface Mills joined the faculty in Fall 2006. Dr. Feig comes from El Paso, Texas and Dr. Mills joins us from Omaha, Nebraska. Welcome aboard!

 

The Department says goodbye to Drs. Rene DeHon and Paul Washington, who departed to Texas Hill Country and Pennsylvania, respectively, in Summer 2006. You will be missed!
