and Sean Chenoweth, and the department’s new state-of-the-art

the article here. Fall 2007 Grants Funded DECEMBER- Anthony Feig, Boniface Mills and Sean
Chenoweth were awarded a $29K Service-Learning grant to study the lower
atmosphere using model rockets. Read
more about it here. DECEMBER-Boniface Mills and Sean Chenoweth were awarded
a $5K grant from the ULM S.T.A.P. program to purchase a workstation for use
with WES and AWIPS software! Mills Obtains
Critical Software DECEMBER- After eight months of negotiations, Dr. Boniface Mills has been granted the rights to obtain and use the Weather Event Software (WES), also known as AWIPS (Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System) simulator. Read more about it here. Welcome back to Dr.
Stringer NOVEMBER- Dr. Gary Stringer has returned to Geosciences
full time beginning in December 2007. Dr. Stringer was formerly the
Department Head of Curriculum and Instruction at Grant Funded OCTOBER- Mike Camille and Anthony Feig were awarded
$24,000 from the Board of Regents’ SELECT program to create a 100%
online Geography 103 course. Welcome to Dr. Case
Hanks OCTOBER- The Department is pleased to welcome our new
atmospheric scientist, Dr. Anne T. Case Hanks. Dr. Case Hanks comes to us
from Georgia Tech and will start in January 2008. Farewell to Dr.
